Vision & Values

Vision–Our Purpose

To help people know and grow to be like Christ (2 Cor. 3:18)

Process

Our process of helping people know and grow to be like Christ involves 1) loving God (Mk. 12:30–Worship); 2) Supporting one another as the body of Christ (1 Jn. 3:16—Relationship); 3)Serving others (Mk. 12:31—Service); 4) Reconciling the Lost and helping them become mature in Christ (2 Cor. 5:21; Col. 1:28; 2 Tim. 2:2—Reconciliation).

Values

HOW THE BIBLE DEFINES DISCIPLESHIP?

Matthew 4:19 (NIV)
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”

“A follower” – someone who understands and accepts Jesus’ leadership = HEAD

“Being Transformed” – someone who is willing to be changed = HEART (Rom. 8:29; 2 Cor. 3:17-18; Jn. 15:1-2; Gal. 5:22-23) from a spiritual response to the Holy Spirit (Eph. 3:14-18).

“Set on Mission” – someone who cares about the cares of God, i.e., “be about the Father’s business” Lk. 2:49. Acts to accomplish the mission = HANDS (2 Cor. 5:15-20; Eph. 2:10; Col. 1:28)

Exhibits “Three Dimensions of Discipleship” Head—Understanding (and following) God’s commands; Heart—Willingly transformed by God’s Spirit; Hands—Engaging God’s mission
